You have taken on a key role in helping your agency become paperless. Your enthusiasm and leadership will be crucial in making this transition a success.
At any point during this process, if you need any assistance, be sure to contact Therap Customer Support. (requires login)
This process will help you provide training to a group of your staff members on Therap applications. The best way to do this is to have all your staff members either each with their own computer or sharing a computer between two staff members. If you do not have a "Computer Lab" then you will need to make sure that staff members can go on to practice as soon as this information is provided to them.
Before you get started, you should make sure that each of your staff have a copy of the Therap New User Training Checklist handy. If you don't have one available: Download, and you can print a copy.
- The first step that your staff will need to take before using Therap, is to create their own accounts. There are basically two ways to do this:
- You can create an account for each of your staff. Learn more about creating users.
- Your staff members can ‘Self Enroll’ (this is the recommended way). You may want to assign another person to activate the user accounts. Learn more about Self Enroll and how to create a self-enroll account and simplifying the process of adding your staff to Therap. How does self enroll work?
- You could also view the Automated Training on Provider Administration which cover the topics above. All trainee PAs could watch this together on a projector, and as you are watching each section, you are free to stop the presentation and add comments or examples specific to your agency. You can also use the controls at the bottom of the screen to rewind and review any piece of the presentation.
- You should tell your staff to log into Therap and switch to ‘Test Mode’ and have them practice as they are learning.
- The Modules listed below are the standard ones that we recommend. You should use the ones that you have agreed on with your Training and Implementation Specialist.
- T-Logs
The first module we are going to learn about is T-Logs. Click here to learn about T-Logs using our Automated Training.
(You can also click here to Learn about T-Logs in Bangla, and tell us if you could use these training videos in another language).
Now that you know all about T-Logs, you can switch to Test Mode and practice reading and writing T-Logs for yourself. Don't forget to mark it off on your Checklist.
- Health Tracking
Now we are going to do the same thing for some Health Tracking modules. Click here and T-Girl will tell you all about them.
Now practice for yourself in Test Mode. Remember to mark off your checklist.
- General Event Reports
If you need to document an incident in Therap you will use our General Event Report (GER) module.
Let , T-Girl will show you how by clicking here.
- Secure Communications
Secure Communications (or SComm as we usually call it) is Therap's HIPAA secure internal "email" system.
T-Girl can give you a presentation right now on how to use it. After that, you should go through this quickgiude on how to send SComm messages that are not related to any programs.
Once you have gone through this with your staff members, they are ready to start doing their documentation using Therap.

Practice!
Practicing can be done using the following options:
Post Training:
After the training there are three (at least) factors that we have seen be key to a successful implementation.
- Have your staff practice more on the computer that they will be using as soon as possible.
- Have your staff complete the Therap New User Training Checklist.
- Set and enforce a "Go Live Date" that is as close to your training as possible.
