- Participate as a trainer in one other Therap conference (aside from national) annually.
- This will allow the individual to gain experience in training others from different areas, as well as help them to learn new modules.
- This also ensures that the trainer remains up to date with Therap upgrades and communicates them to his/her agency. The certified trainer will be asked to conduct sessions periodically throughout the conference.
- This requirement may be waived if cost is shown to be a significant factor (or scheduling, etc.) and the individual will be asked to view additional webinars (or conduct some other remote activity) at Therap's discretion.
- Therap will cover the cost of registration fee.
- Other Requirements
- Conduct two webinars minimally on topics of their choice and expertise.
- Contribute once per month minimally to the Therap Certified Trainers Blog.
- Participate in semi-regular meetings of Certified Trainers conducted via webinar.
- Comment within Therap Ideas regularly. These have to be useful comments - not just making responses to stay certified. Four entries per month are required.

Re-certification Process:
If you meet all the criteria for the previous year, at the time of your re-certification, you will no longer need to be re-certified annually. You will become an “Advanced Certified Trainer” and remain that way as long as the basic requirements are satisfied. The requirements include: posting to the Certified Trainers Blog one time per month minimally, as well as Therap Ideas; attend semi-regular Certified Trainers meetings; conduct one webinar annually, and attend two conference, assisting with some training sessions.
If you do not satisfy all of the requirements throughout the year, a second option essentially offers a re-start if you wish to re-certify. You may schedule a webinar to demonstrate your knowledge of the Therap system or to take a small exam. The module to be demonstrated will be selected by the Therap staff member administering the webinar. The exam may cover any dimension of the Individual Supports or, if you are a provider administrator, the provider administrator section of the application. Given that the session is successful, the above criteria needs to be met throughout the next certification period for a trainer to become an Advanced Certified Trainer.
