Creating a new Attendance Type
If you are an Administrator, you will see the following links on your FirstPage:

To create a new Attendance Type, click on the ‘New Attendance Type’ link.
When creating Attendance Types, you can control whether time tracking will be required or not. If you just want to track whether an individual is present or absent, then recording time can be made optional. On the other hand, if you need to keep track of service duration for Billing or documentation purpose, you can make Time In/Out required for Attendance Data.
Here are the steps to create an Attendance Type where Time In/Out is not required:

For this Attendance type, “P” will show up if an individual is marked as Present in the Attendance form and this entry will create a Billing Data with 1 Billable Unit when generating Billing Data from Attendance Data.
Note: If Time In/Out is made required, then the Billing Units column will be disabled and Billable Units will be calculated from Time In/Out.
Bundling Rules
Bundling rules will enable you to apply certain rules on the total duration or total units on a daily or monthly basis. You can specify a Monthly Bundling rule or Daily Bundling rule when creating an Attendance Type.
Daily Bundling
For Attendance Types where Time In and Out is required, you can apply Daily Bundling Rule. With the daily bundling rule you can basically control the resulting billable units depending on the duration. For example, you can add a rule that if a service is provided for less than 3 hours, it should be 0.5 units but if its 3 hours or more, then it will be 1 unit.

Monthly Bundling
If Time In/Out is not required in Attendance Type, then you can apply Monthly bundling rule. With monthly bundling rule you can control the resulting billable units depending on the total units for the whole month. For example, you can add a rule that if an individual is present for 21 days or less, it will be counted as 0.5 units, anything more than that will be 1 unit.

The resulting unit after applying the bundling rule can be found in the Detail Excel Report.
Automatic Units Calculation from Time In/Out
If you are an Administrator, you will get the link to create new Service Description Codes in the FirstPage.
When creating a Service Description Code, you can specify how our system should calculate Billable units from Time duration.

For Example, for Quarter Hour Billing, select ‘Quarterly’ as Unit of Measure, ‘Half Up’ as Rounding Algorithm and ‘15 Min’ as the Smallest Allowed Increment.
| Note If you set up this information in Service Description Code, it will be automatically copied to all the Services linked to this Description Code. |
Linking Attendance with Service Authorizations
When creating Services in the Service Authorizations, you need to specify ‘Attendance’ as the ‘Method of data collection’. You also need to select an Attendance Type from the Attendance Type list.

If you have already entered the ‘Automatic Unit Calculation’ section in Service Description Code, then it will be copied to the Service form. If not, then you can fill up the Automation Unit Calculation section as described in the previous section if needed.
