Creating New Service Description Code

Create Description Code

1. In your FirstPage in Administration Mode, click on the New Description/Code link in the Billing section.
   
   
   In the Dashboard, click on the New link in the same row as Description/Code under Billing in the Admin tab.
   
   
   
2. At the Service Description/Code page, select the appropriate Claim Type and all other fields marked with a red asterisk (*).
   
   
   
   

   For the Primary Diagnosis Code field ICD-9 will be selected by default.

Professional Claim type Service Description/Code

Primary Diagnosis Code and Diagnosis Code Pointer fields are required for Professional Claim while creating Service Description/Code.



Diagnosis Code should contain values without decimal points.

Tracking of Unit Rate Changes by Date Range

This option is not available to all providers and appears for providers in certain states only.

Administrators may select the 'Enable Tracking of Unit Rate Changes by Date Range' option in the 'Service Description/Code' section of the 'Service Description/Code' form.



On selecting the Enable Tracking of Unit Rate Changes by Date Range option, further options will be displayed. Enter the parameters as appropriate for the 'Service'.



Enter rest of the information as mentioned in the above steps and click on 'Save' button to save the Service Description/Code form.
