CDS Bridge Activation and Administration for Montana providers

For Provider Administrators

Please note that for all Montana agencies, your provider preferences will show that you have CDS enabled. The next thing to do, is to assign a CDS Administrator who would be able to see the staffs' lessons and their status.

Setting up the Bridge

When CDS Administrators log in, they will see a box on their FirstPage with the title "CDS" (shown below), which will have a link saying "Setup" in it. For everyone in Montana, the setup information is the same since the contract with the College of Direct Support is at a state level. So the setup information has been put in there already, and you need not worry about it.

You can thus straight away, move towards using the features of the bridge. You have to instruct your staff to enter their CDS Learner Id into the system when asked to, as described below.

CDS Learner Ids

The CDS feature consists of two things, accessing the current CDS lessons, and a link to directly log users into their CDS Personal Page. They are described in detail here. Both these features require the users to enter in their CDS Learner Id the first time they try to use it. Once its entered for one, it doesn't need to be entered in again.

Users will need to make sure that they have entered in their CDS Learner Id exactly as it is, into Therap to use this bridge. The first time that any user tries to see their lessons or use the Go To CDS link, Therap will ask them to put this in. If later, a correction is to be made, they can go to the Lessons page (from FirstPage) or CDS Lessons page (from Dashboard) where they'll find a button that says "Update User Info". They can re-enter their CDS Learner Id there.

A CDS Administrator can also reset the CDS Learner Id for a staff, if the staff member is having trouble doing it. Just click on Trainee Report in the CDS section on FirstPage, and search or locate the user in question from the list, and click on his or her name. The resulting page will also have the "Update User Info" button. Using that feature you or any CDS Administrator can change the CDS Learner Id for a staff when necessary.

If the Go To CDS link is failing to log a user in, and the error message something like this:

Could Not Log In.
The system was not able to recognize learner credentials.

...its best to first check if the CDS Learner Id was entered in properly. If there's a confusion with that Id, its best to contact CDS directly about it.
